Renae leads BLACK’s internal operations, including all those critically important but behind-the-scenes disciplines that allow the creative gurus to do their thing: finance, legal, administrative and human resources. She partners with Account Services and clients to establish and monitor budgets, develop proposals, contracts, and financial analyses ensuring successful, long-term business partnerships and engagements. Yes, her gig is way more than dotting i’s and crossing t’s.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Oregon, Renae began her career with international accounting firm KPMG. That provided the solid financial foundation from which to launch into the private sector. Over the next 20 years, Renae developed into a finance rock star specializing in creative service industries like real estate, architecture, design and advertising.
She keeps the trains running on time with little more than an Excel spreadsheet and a bullhorn. Her strengths are many, but most notable is her wickedly quick ability at analyzing, organizing, monitoring and following a complex project through from inception to successful completion. Despite her classic accounting background, she is an excellent communicator with a diabolical sense of humor.
Renae and her husband Jim are proud and highly involved parents to four ranging from 10 years to 22. When she’s not working or chasing after them, she is a voracious reader, loves traveling and participates in a variety of sports.
